Reagan’s Roundup (12/20)

Welcome to Reagan’s Roundup, where every Friday I share links to things from around the web that I think you will find interesting or helpful in your journey to become a better steward of the life God has given you.

Here’s what we covered this week on Redeeming Productivity:

Now, here are some other links from around the web:

Opinion: Tragically, Bethel leaders praying for 2-year-old’s resurrection are believing God for promises He hasn’t made

This isn’t really productivity-related, but you may be interested in an op-ed I wrote this week for Disrn News about a tragic and troubling situation. If you listened to this week’s podcast on being a Christian on the internet, this was my attempt to put into practice the things I was talking about.

Sorrow, Depression, & the Holidays

One of the biggest sappers of productive energy is grief and depression, and as we all know these can be exacerbated by the holidays. If you’re struggling during this time of year, Eric Davis writes about 11 truths for strength in sorrow from the Scriptures.

“Depression and discouragement are not respecters of the holidays. For many reasons, the normal sorrow of life can reach a highpoint this time of year for some.”

Robocall-crushing TRACED act passes Senate and heads to Oval Office

This is good news for US phone users. This new act will hopefully result in fewer of those annoying robocalls. Who knows, maybe we’ll all start answering calls from unknown numbers again?

When Parents Set the Bar Too Low

“If our only horizon is the seven or eight decades our son or daughter might have on earth, and if we believe that happiness comes when we make enough to live comfortably and are able to do the things we want to do, it would make sense to focus on managing time and circumstances to make that happen.”

That’s it for this week! I’ll see you on Monday with a new episode of the Redeeming Productivity Show. You won’t want to miss this one, it’s an interview with Matthew Robinson, the founder and director of Media Gratiae.

But until then, remember that in whatever you do, do it well and do it all to the glory of God!
